Nominations sought for 2015 IOSH Council election
The Council is IOSH’s representative body and the champion, and conscience, of IOSH’s integrity and ethics. It provides advice and debates strategic, professional and policy issues. It also has the key responsibility for choosing our President each year and represents the views of IOSH members to the Board of Trustees.
In June, members will be sent details about how they can take part in the election and vote for 12 new members of Council. The successful candidates will officially join after IOSH’s Annual General Meeting in November and serve for three years.
Of the nominees elected to Council, at least nine will be corporate members at the level of chartered fellow, retired fellow, chartered member, or retired member. Up to three can be non-corporate members from the positions graduate member, technical member, affiliate member, associate member or honorary fellow.
To be nominated, each candidate needs to be proposed by two other members, or an IOSH branch and group. In the election, corporate members can vote for non-corporate members and vice versa.
To request a nomination form, please email Laura Miles, committee support officer, at email@example.com, or call on 0116 257 3190. Forms need to be completed and returned to The Grange by noon on Friday 29 May 2015. As the sequence in which candidates are listed on the ballot information is in the order of when validated nominations and statements are received, prospective candidates are advised to submit early.
