What is Mindfulness?
What is Mindfulness? When we think about our health it’s easy to be too focused on things like height, weight and exercise without thinking about our mental health. Being mindful is a great way of managing non-physical areas of our wellbeing.
Mindfulness is defined as: a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment.
Mindfulness is about knowing what is going on both outside and inside of ourselves moment by moment. It’s about being connected with our bodies, being aware of the sights, smells, sounds and tastes around us. It is also about an awareness of our thoughts and feelings.
Mindfulness can help us see clearly what is happening in our lives. It helps us to respond in a positive manner, leading to health benefits to the body.
