Arguably the most important first step in managing asbestos is being aware of what asbestos containing materials are, what health effects can arise from exposure to airborne asbestos fibres, how to avoid the risks from asbestos and what to do if asbestos is inadvertently disturbed. Participating in asbestos awareness training is an ideal place to start.
By law, any worker that may disturb asbestos while conducting their normal everyday duties must be trained and as an employer you must provide adequate information, instruction and training to those workers.
As an employer you must also ensure that your supervisors and managers are trained and know what their responsibilities are and that the training provider you use is competent and aware of the tasks that are likely to be carried out by staff,
Santia has designed and delivers a number of courses that are approved by UKATA and the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) to help you ensure that you keep your staff and anybody else that enters your premises safe.
These courses can be delivered in a number of ways in-company, elearning and off-site classroom courses.
